OS 3.3 and /or Low Memory Messages

The Palm OS allocates a certain amount of memory for an application to use for its internal usage, 32k,64k, or 96k depending on the Palm OS.  As we put more functions and tools into BibleReader it uses up this memory.  Palm OS 3.3 has the most limiting problems.  In our reader, under the menu Help/Info we display the amount of internal memory left for our application.  As more Palm hacks are installed this memory is eaten up.  This internal memory limitation is similar to one that conventional PC's had a few years ago.

So if you get an error message, "Not enough memory for BibleReader", you do not have enough of the internal program memory to run the application, even though you may have 2 megs free on your Palm system for databases.

The readers with fewer tools use less of this internal memory.  The above readers will not support  GRAMCORD Greek New Testament.  If you are participating in that beta program we will e-mail you the necessary reader to run the application.

If you have experienced this message:

"Not enough memory to run the BibleReader

Don't forget the soft reset if you are experiencing memory errors!

Install the latest beta and perform a "soft reset"  by pressing a paper clip or similar object into the reset port on the back of your Palm organizer.  The soft reset will restore the Palm's internal System File back to normal but should not cause data loss.

NOTE: This is necessary ONLY if you have experienced the error message:

"Not enough memory to run the BibleReader".

Check the What's New log for more information about fixes in this version.
