• All fields are variable length. Fields may contain up to 65000 characters.

• Select most commands from menus.

• Word-processor-like editor simplifies data entry. Features include extensive cursor movement and delete commands, word-wrap, scrolling, block operations, search and replace, and underline, boldface, italics, superscript and subscript.

• Multilingual support for most Western European languages, with easy entry of accented characters and proper sorting on these characters.

• Macros save time on repetitious operations. Dozens of predefined macros simplify common tasks. A macro editor and debug mode simply the design of macros.

• Pop-up table listing the contents of a field in all records simplifies entering data, browsing or searching. Simply point to an entry and press the "return" key to select it.

• Bibliographies are formatted down to the fine details: page numbering style (10-15, 10-5, 10f, 10ff, 10); use initials or full first names; use abbreviated or full author role ("ed." or "editor"); use a letter with the year for multiple citations by the same author (1994a).

• Bibliographies can be organized by subjects, authors, journals or any other field. This is useful for creating subject bibliographies, periodical indexes and book catalogs.

• Optionally group books, journal articles, patents and other materials in separate sections of the bibliography.

• Create spine labels, pocket labels, new acquisitions lists and other special reports.

• Automatically format footnotes or intext citations in numbered, author- date and other styles. Library Master reads your document, formats the footnotes or citations and creates the final bibliography of works cited.

• Footnotes automatically use a full first citation and abbreviated subsequent citation of the same work. "Ibid." and "op. cit." may be used if desired.

• Reports can arrange fields back to back in continuous text with automatic word wrap, for research notes, bibliographies, legal briefs and product descriptions. Alternatively they can put fields in columns, for tables, mailing lists, personnel records and filling in forms.

• Produce reports in the file formats used by many popular Windows and DOS word processors, including WordPerfect, Ami Pro, WordStar, WordStar 2000, PC-Write, Nota Bene, XYWrite, Microsoft Word (Rich Text Format) and Megawriter/Chiwriter.

• Create documents which can be published on the World Wide Web, using the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).

• Flexible name formatting: convert first name to initials, use "et al." when more than a maximum number of names, specify treatment of suffixes such as "Jr." and "III".

• Letter case conversion: capitalize all letters, beginning of field, beginning of each word. Special capitalization may be used for German, French and other languages with different capitalization rules than English.

• Sort on multiple fields, with ascending or descending sort order. Properly sort anonymous works. Sorting can be based on lexical order and ignore leading articles. Sorting properly handles accented characters for multilingual text. Sort by Library of Congress or Dewey Decimal call numbers.

• Character sort order is user definable, allowing the user to use special characters sets with EGA, VGA or Hercules Plus video cards.

• Accented characters are properly output to any printer or word processor.
